Cotton Canvas

Heavyweight cotton canvas (typically 8–10 oz.) is the workhorse fabric of the apron world. Poly/Cotton Twill Blends

A 65/35 poly/cotton blend gives you a lighter, more breathable apron that still resists wrinkling and holds color well through frequent washing. These are a strong choice for servers, hosts, and counter staff who need to look sharp for a full shift without the bulk of canvas. Poly/cotton also tends to dry faster after washing, which can matter for businesses doing same-day laundry turnaround.

Denim

Denim aprons have become popular for their look as much as their function — a rugged, on-trend aesthetic that fits gastropubs, craft coffee shops, and farm-to-table concepts wanting their staff uniform to reflect their brand. Denim is durable and ages well, though it's typically heavier than poly/cotton and can take longer to dry.

Which Should You Choose?

As a general rule: heavyweight canvas for back-of-house staff doing hands-on kitchen work, lightweight poly/cotton for front-of-house and counter roles, and denim when you want a distinct, branded look at the counter or bar.
